I have another Born Pretty Store nail foil review today!
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while might remember my first time experimenting with nail foil, and I have since been sent two more colours to try.
The previous foils were patterned, but I really wanted to try the gradient foils they carry. The one I'll be showing today is number 25 on the website, which has a gorgeous shiny yellow to magenta gradient. I used Catrice - The Dark Knight as a base here.
Follow the jump for more photos, info and some tips on application!
Doesn't that look amazing? (Totally appropriate for Katniss Everdeen too..)
This is how the foil looks, on the left with flash, on the right in direct sunlight. Both of these photos are taken with my phone, to really show how bright and colorful they are. Isn't it odd how phones just get colours nowadays?

Each container holds 113cm of foil, and is 2.5cm (roughly an inch) wide. Like I mentioned last time, it really is a lot, and these will last you for ages. I'm not sure why some of the colours/patterens come in a larger container though.
How to apply nail foil:
/ Apply base coat if necessary
/ Apply one coat of base colour
/ Apply second coat of base colour, one nail at a time
/ Wait for polish to be touch dry (meaning ever so slightly tacky, but not completely dried up)
/ Press foil onto nail (shiny side up!), applying quite a bit of pressure to ensure a smooth transfer. You'll notice the pretty shiny stuff is now stuck to your nail, instead of the backing of the foil!
/ Admire your work
Here are some tips I've picked up so far;
You'll want the polish to be dry to the point you think the foil will not stick to it, if the polish is still too wet you'll just pull it off when applying the foil.
It works best if you cut the foil into small strips before you start, to avoid ruining your base coat. I usually cut about 5 strips, just wide enough to cover my nails, and lay them down on my work space with the right side up.
Top coat can cause the foil to crinkle on your nails, so I skipped that.
Removing this is as easy as removing any creme polish, it just comes right off.
Have you tried these foils yet? Let me know in the comments!
