Swatch - Essence: Only Purple Matters
Today I've got another polish by Essence that has recently been added to the core collection. I really love how Essence now has a wide range of nail art supplies and even though I won't pay €2 for one dotting tool or fan brush, it is nice for those who can't order items from Ebay or Amazon.
The polish I'll be showing you is part of the Special Effect Topper series. These are usually fun glitter top coats that look good on pretty much any base colour.
I'm not sure why, but I just could not take a proper photo of this in my lightbox. It made my hands look like they had a greenish tint, so I had to take my photos outside for once.
This is two coats of Essence - Only Purple Matters over two coats of Essence - Oh My Glitter!
More after the jump!
This is how the topper looks in the bottle:
It looks amazing in the bottle, with its tiny purple glitter and larger hot pink glitter. It looks like one of those polishes where you'll go "ooooh so much depth!", and it even has a sticker on the cap with "3D glitter".
Sadly, I don't think any of that translates onto your nails. The glitter lays flat and, really, quite dull. While I really love these colours, I'm not a big fan of this overall.
Maybe next time I'll try layering it over a glossy topcoat, to create some actual depth.
What do you think? Would you say this is 3D (whatever that means)?
